Thailand and India have come together to celebrate the spirit of Diwali with grandeur at the Amazing Thailand Grand Diwali Festival 2025, a cultural extravaganza that lights up Phahurat (Little India) and Khlong Ong Ang. The festival showcases a spectacular blend of Indian traditions and Thai hospitality, featuring mesmerising performances, colourful parades, and immersive cultural experiences.
Organised by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in collaboration with public and private partners, the event officially began on October 19, 2025, marking the start of a two-week celebration that runs until October 31, 2025.
Showcasing the Harmony of Thai–Indian Culture
The opening ceremony featured a breathtaking Thai–Indian Ramayana performance, merging classical Indian and Thai dance forms. The act symbolised the timeless Diwali message — the triumph of light over darkness.
The performance unfolded in three acts:

The Triumph of Good Over Evil — portraying the legendary battle between Rama and Ravana, highlighting courage, righteousness, and victory.

Return to the City — celebrating the joyous reunion of Rama and Sita, representing love and renewal.

Festival of Lights — a vibrant, Bollywood-inspired finale filled with colour, rhythm, and happiness, ending with the lighting of traditional lamps, representing hope and harmony.
This captivating show beautifully demonstrated how art can bridge cultures and strengthen historical ties between Thailand and India.
The Grand Procession of Exquisite Radiance
A major highlight of the festival is the Grand Procession of Exquisite Radiance, which transforms the streets of Phahurat and Khlong Ong Ang into a sea of lights and colours. The parade honoured Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha, symbols of prosperity and wisdom.
Participants carried lotus offerings, lanterns, garlands, and parasols, creating a spectacular visual experience. Accompanied by traditional drummers and musicians, the parade filled the streets with energy and devotion. The grand procession symbolised not only the divine blessings of Diwali but also the friendship and cultural unity between Thailand and India.
Interactive Cultural Experiences and Diwali Market
The Amazing Thailand Grand Diwali Festival 2025 offers more than just performances — it invites visitors to take part in interactive activities and cultural workshops.
The Diwali Market, set up across Phahurat and Khlong Ong Ang, features handcrafted decorations, traditional attire, jewellery, and Indian delicacies, creating a festive marketplace full of aromas and colours.
