Tragic Accident on National Highway 44

In a tragic incident on National Highway 44 in Sagar district, Madhya Pradesh, four members of the state police’s Bomb Disposal Squad lost their lives.
A speeding container truck, believed to have deliberately rammed their vehicle, caused the crash. The team was returning from an anti-Naxal operation at the time.

One officer, Constable Rajiv Chauhan, survived the collision and was rushed to Bansal Hospital, Bhopal, in critical condition.

Identities of the Deceased

The police officers who died in the crash have been identified as:

  • Constable Pradhuman Dixit

  • Constable Aman Kaurav

  • Driver Paramlal Tomar

  • Dog Master Vinod Sharma

The vehicle was crushed beyond recognition, leaving almost no chance of survival for those inside.

Safety Protocol Concerns Raised

The accident has sparked serious concerns over safety measures and professional lapses.
Officials and observers note that repeated failures in risk management during high-risk operations, including bomb disposal missions, continue to put officers’ lives at risk.

This incident comes just months after a police station blast in Srinagar, which killed multiple officers and civilians. Experts are now urging a review of operational safety protocols to prevent further tragedies.
