Tragic Accident in Morena District

Two people, including a minor, lost their lives, and three others were injured after a BJP youth leader allegedly rammed his car into a group sitting near a bonfire in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena district. The incident occurred at the Porsa-Jotai Road bypass intersection, shocking the local community.

The victims have been identified as Ram Dutt Rathore (65), son of Bulaki Ram Rathore, and Arnav Lakshakar (10), son of Mukesh Lakshakar. Both succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment at a hospital in Gwalior.

Accused Identified

The vehicle was reportedly driven by Deependra Bhadauria, the Vice President of the BJP Youth Wing’s rural unit in Porsa. Eyewitnesses claimed that Bhadauria was driving at high speed and under the influence of alcohol, losing control of the car, which caused the victims to be thrown several feet onto the road.

Local Anger and Protest

Following the accident, angry residents apprehended the accused and allegedly assaulted him before handing him over to the police. However, under controversial circumstances, the accused escaped from police custody, sparking fresh outrage.

Locals blocked the Porsa-Jotai road for nearly 20 minutes, demanding the immediate arrest of the accused. One of the injured even refused medical treatment until legal action was taken against Bhadauria.

Police Response

Upon receiving information, SDOP Ravi Bhadauria arrived at the scene and calmed the protesters, assuring that the accused would be arrested soon and that strict legal action would follow. Following these assurances, the road blockade was lifted.

The police confirmed that a search operation is underway to locate the BJP leader and that a case has been registered in connection with the incident.
