Statewide Festivities Mark the Arrival of Spring
Madhya Pradesh is celebrating Basant Panchami with enthusiasm, devotion, and vibrant rituals across the state. Special programmes are being held at temples, historical sites, and cultural centres, while the administration remains alert to ensure law and order.
The festival marks worship of Goddess Saraswati and the welcome of the spring season, with devotees offering prayers, flowers, and sweets in traditional ceremonies.
Grand Celebrations at Key Temples
At the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, devotees participated in the Bhasma Aarti, performing abhishek with saffron Panchamrit and offering yellow clothes, flowers, and sweets, which are symbolic of the season.
In Panna district, the historic Saraswati Temple at Ajaigarh witnessed large crowds from Madhya Pradesh and neighbouring states. Festivities included special prayers, havan, kanya bhoj, and distribution of prasad to devotees.
High Security at Bhojshala, Dhar
In Dhar district, authorities have implemented strict security measures at the Bhojshala complex due to Basant Panchami celebrations. Following Supreme Court directives, the entire Dhar city has been placed on high alert.

Dhar Collector Priyank Mishra stated that all necessary measures have been taken to maintain peace and harmony, urging citizens to ignore rumours and cooperate with authorities.
